LOCAL 4929 EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTION

Nominations for the first WAWU Executive Board Elections are now open. Accept your nomination (here) before the deadline at 11:59 pm on Thursday, October 10th!

The Executive Board is the elected group of union members that make sure the day to day functions of our union are accomplished so that we can continue to exist and make changes to our workplace. In WAWU, decisions that affect our union are not made behind closed doors, but rather with the final stamp of approval from general membership Since this is our first ever elected EBoard, many of the duties will include the administrative tasks associated with building our Local Chapter, making sure that general ESEs are well informed about our first historic contract, and organizing members to enforce that contract. EBoard members will get training and support from our experienced United Auto Worker representatives, and will constantly be backed up by the membership of the union. EBoard members will be required to attend both the Monthly Membership Meeting and Monthly EBoard Meetings and are highly encouraged to at least attend weekly Organizing Committee meetings – in addition to any standing committee weekly meetings.

Right now all you have to do to run is accept your nomination using this form! The Elections Committee will verify your eligibility and get back to you to confirm you’re in the running. Nominations will remain open until 11:59 PM on Thursday October 10th. Accepted Nominations will be posted on the website. The elections will be conducted by a secret ballot and held from Thursday, October 24th – Sunday, October 27th.
